Portrait of Dr. Aaron Weiss, board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist in Orlando

Dr. Aaron Weiss, MD

A pediatrician, a neonatologist, and a dad.

Dr. Weiss trained in general pediatrics and in neonatal-perinatal medicine. He spent years caring for the most medically complex newborns in the NICU before opening this practice. The rest of the time, he’s a father to two young kids and a goldendoodle. All of those things shape how he practices.

The model he works with — concierge, intentionally limited, direct-access — is unusual. The reasons are personal. They start with his brother.

Why Dr. Weiss became a pediatrician

It started with a hospital room he never wanted to be in.

When Dr. Weiss was a teenager, his younger brother was badly hurt in a car accident. He spent months in the intensive care unit. The doctors and nurses who cared for him saved his life and opened Dr. Weiss’s perspective forever. He made a full recovery.

Dr. Weiss decided then he wanted to do that for other families. Both of his parents are in healthcare — his father is an anesthesiologist, his mother is a registered nurse — but it was his brother’s rehabilitation that pulled him into medicine.

What he didn’t know yet was that the system he was joining had its own problems. Years later, working long shifts in a NICU, he watched the insurance-driven model fail families who deserved better. That’s the second reason this practice exists.

Training & background

A path through some of the best programs in the country.

Dr. Weiss graduated from the University of Miami and its Miller School of Medicine, then completed his pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, affiliated with Northwestern University.

He is board-certified in both general pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He returned to Florida to work in the NICU, where he cared for some of the most medically complex newborns. Through that experience he recognized the value of deeper relationships and more accessible care — which ultimately led him to transition to a concierge model so he could better serve families.

No amount of education or training fully prepares you for parenthood. My own kids remind me of this every day. I bring a genuine sense of wonder, a willingness to listen and learn, and real compassion to every interaction.

Theme parks, the beach, and a backyard garden.

Dr. Weiss was born in Orlando and spent much of his early life here, so coming home to raise his own family was an easy decision. He has two young kids and a goldendoodle. Together they go to theme parks, the beach, and on long walks with the dog.

He runs, he bikes, and he’s a black belt in American Kenpo karate — he still trains and spars when he can. The kids and Dr. Weiss have a backyard garden with tomatoes, peppers, and flowers, which they’re glad they can enjoy almost year-round here.
